Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the most common questions about our private boat charters. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, just contact us.
Is the boat private for our group?
Yes. Your charter is for your group rather than a crowded public sightseeing tour.
Is a captain included?
Yes. All of our charters are operated with a licensed captain. The captain is arranged separately from the boat rental as part of the bareboat charter process, but we’ll make the process simple and straightforward for you.
Is fuel included?
Yes, fuel is included in the advertised charter price.
What can we do during the charter?
Cruising, swimming, sandbar stops, dolphin watching, sightseeing, and relaxing on the water.
Where do charters depart from?
We offer convenient pickup options throughout Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key, and Lido Key. The exact departure location will depend on your preferred cruising area, trip length, weather, water conditions, and availability. We’ll help you choose the most convenient pickup location for your group.
Can we choose where we go?
Absolutely. Tell us what your group would most like to do, and we’ll help plan the best route based on your interests, available time, weather, tides, currents, and water conditions.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks aboard. Alcoholic beverages are also permitted for guests of legal drinking age. We just ask that you avoid glass containers and red wine to help protect the boat and keep things safe and clean.
Is there a cooler?
Yes. The boat includes a standard size rectangular cooler, and ice is included for your charter. You’re welcome to use it for your food, drinks, and other items you’d like to keep cold.
Can we swim?
Yes, when conditions and location allow.
Do you provide anything for swimming?
Yes. We provide a 6’x18′ floating mat along with pool noodles for guests to enjoy while swimming and relaxing in the water.
Will we see dolphins?
Dolphins are frequently seen in Southwest Florida waters, and we’ll always keep an eye out, but wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. We closely monitor the weather and water conditions leading up to your charter. If conditions are not suitable for a safe and enjoyable trip, we’ll work with you on the available options, which may include adjusting the trip time, rescheduling, or cancellation depending on the circumstances and applicable booking policy.
How many people can come?
Our boat can accommodate up to 10 people total, including the captain, subject to the boat’s passenger and weight limits. The exact number of guests may also depend on the size of your group, total passenger weight, and the trip setup.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Children are welcome on our charters. We provide the required safety equipment, including appropriately sized life jackets, and ask that children be supervised by an adult at all times while aboard.
What should we bring?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, towels, swimwear, and any food or drinks you’d like to enjoy during your charter. You may also want to bring a light cover-up or extra layer, depending on the weather. Please avoid glass containers and red wine aboard the boat.
Are pets allowed?
No. To help protect the interior of the boat and maintain a clean, comfortable environment for all guests, pets are not permitted aboard.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before departure are eligible for a refund of the boat rental payment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are nonrefundable unless otherwise agreed in writing. If the boat cannot be provided because of a mechanical issue, or if the selected captain determines that weather or marine conditions make the charter unsafe before departure, you may choose a full refund of the boat rental payment or reschedule for another date.
